This spring, we invited our Facebook friends to spot signs bearing the Demers name, to take
pictures of these and send them to us to create an album.
In celebration of its 375 th Anniversary, two Montreal alleys were honored. One in particular held our
attention; Demers Street in the Plateau Mont-Royal district of Montreal won a prize for its layout.
We also discovered that it was named to honor the memory of Father Louis Demers, last of the
Recollets. Father Louis was one of the subjects of our last year’s gathering in St-Pierre- les-
Becquets.
